Health & Safety
On the 31st December 1995, the last transitional provisions for the Construction (Design Management)
Regulations 1994 (CDM Regulations) ended. Since that date, all duties have been in force for clients,
designers, planning supervisors and contractors.
Prior to the 1st January 1999, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) took a less stringent attitude tothe
enforcement of the CDM Regulations. However it is now imperative that all parties understand their duties and
carry out all activities necessary to ensure that their duties have been fulfilled since the new release of CDM 2000
+ CDM 2008 regulations.
GlobalCom (UK) requires that all their network designers and contractors are trained to understand the principles of network civil engineering and construction. Therefore we ensure that the designers are qualified in NRASWA, C.D.M, and various Telecommunications disciplines. GlobalCom (UK) has provided various clients with comprehensive design risk assessment checklist for CDM to aid with construction implementation.
Our organisation has adopted a culture of a ‘safety first’ mentality. GlobalCom UK Ltd enjoys an excellent Health & Safety record and we believe that this is primarily due to comprehensive policies, procedures, risk assessments and method statements that we have continually reviewed and developed.
We also believe that investment in H&S is a basic requirement to the development of our operatives and they in turn can provide a productive and safe working environment. This is why in coordination with our Royal Bank of Scotland Health & Safety advisors ‘Mentor’ we have developed the Constructionline and CSCS working practises, of which, all of our employees from installation to managers are CSCS registered.
