We were approached in February 2009 by Christal Management Ltd who are based in Manchester.  They provide project management services for Lancaster University.

We were required to tender for the proposed Campus Fibre Network. The proposed work involved approximately 300 meters of telecommunications civils duct around the campus with building entry solutions to 15 campus building, 16km of fibre cable sub-duct, 1.1km of galvanised tray containment within 16 campus buildings along with 33km of a composite multimode and singlemode fibre cable including 8160 fibre optic splice terminations.

As part of our tender presentation to Lancaster University we proposed to use a BrandRex composite cable which comprised of 96 singlemode fibres and 24 multimode fibres, with Splice UK Ltd fibre termination trays and ODF's due to the high fibre capacity which Lancaster University required at each of the 15 campus buildings.

The project required fibre cables to be installed within the campus communications network and service tunnels from both the Newly built ISS building and their Faraday building to create each of the main outlying comms cabinets with resiliant routing from each location.
